The 2022 Post Season Shoot is scheduled for September 11th at Albion
We had a shoot off with 1st half winner Bay City on Saturday, September 10th, for the 2022 Erie Crawford Trap League Season Championship and when it was over, we came in second best. The weather was very nice with bright sunny skies and gentle winds. We also provided a free lunch for all the shooters that were hungry. But when the shooting was over, although we matched their 245 score for the top five, we fell to second place in the tie breaker rules of the League. Congratulations to Bay City, the 2022 ECTL Season Champion.
Now comes the good news! The very next day, Sunday, September 11th, the ECTL Post Season shoot was held at Albion. This time the weather was not anywhere as nice. Moderate to heavy rains for many of the shooting hours did keep the attendance down but our team did really well in this trophy shoot. Not only did we take the Team High score with a 243 but very many of our team the won the trophy for their class or catagory. Leading the way was the High Gun Winner Con Shearer with the only perfect 50 turned in that day. Joining Con at the trophy case was AA Jim Tayler (49), A Class Adam Miller (48), B Class Dan Spencer (48), D Class Joni Troyer (46), Lady Diane Shouey (46) and Vet Bob Huson (48). All in all a great showing by our team!
The Season Banquet is being held October 16th at the Americal Legion Hall in Waterford. Costs are $20/person. Please RSVP to Cindi Catlin by October 11th.

The end is here but its not over yet. The last regular shoot of the 2022 season is now over and we finished it with a close match against the Erie County Sports team. It was a cliffhanger with only two birds separating the winning team from the losers. Fortunately we were that team with the two bird lead. That gave us a 7-0 record for the Second Half and set up a shoot off for the ECTL Season Championship with or friends and rivals at Bay City to see who gets to hang the Season Champion trophy on their wall. Bay City had a perfect 7-0 First Half to give them their chance for the Trophy which matched our efforts in the Second Half. The Shoot off is scheduled for Saturday, September 10th at our grounds with signups from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. If you met the league's rules which require that to enter Season Championship shoot off, a shooter must have entered at least 300 targets in the season, come on out and help us win. If you have not met the 300 target requirement, you can still come out to watch and cheer us on.
The 13th Week proved to be a good week for us. It brought us a victory over North East and a perfect 6-0 record for the second half. The 50's of Con Shearer and Joel Stewart along with the 49's of John Catlin, Bob Huson, Adam Miller. William Peiffley, Sean Spencer and Jim Taylor gav us a team score of 247. That topped North East's 243. The problem which prevented the team record from being posted last night has been corrected and the accurate scores are available for the Team Record 2nd Half.
For next week, our final shoot of the 2022 ECTL season we will be hosting the team from Erie County Sportsmen League as they visit our club. Hope to see you there.

Here we are at Sparta for Week 12. They provided ideal weather for the evening. You can tell the days are getting shorter as the last shooter finished in the bright twilight of the evening. When the scores were tabulated, thanks to the efforts of Don Goodenow and Jim Taylor both of whom came in with Perfect 50's and the backup efforts of Bob Huson, Con Shearer, Sean Spencer and Joel Stewart's 49's we finished with a team score of 247 which topped the 243 of the Sparta team. It was indeed a most enjoyable evening for our shooters. Next week we take the other "long-Haul Trip of our season as we head up to the grape vineyards of the North East Sportsman team. Hope to see you there.
Week 11 had Gem City traveling to meet us. The day's weather was just dandy with CALM winds, warm temperatures and the rain drops staying far away. Bob Huson and Sean Spencer led our team with matching 50's. Those 50's were followed by the 49's of Joel Stewart and Jim Taylor. Completing the team score was the 48's of John Catlin, John Kanyuck, Adam Miller and Con Shearer. Remember that next week there is no ECTL match because if the Grand Amercan Trap Shoot in Sparta, IL. Don't worry though. Edinboro s holding the Hobbs Open so you don't have to worry about not getting your weekly dose of trapshooting fun. The following week,Week 12 of the ECTL season has us traveling across the county to take on the challenge of Sparta. Come out out and join us in the fun at Spartansburg.
Edinboro came a calling to out grounds for a Week 10 visit. We gave them some very nice weather to enjoy on their trip south. We also provided some very nice targets for them to break. Their team score shows that they did break 242 of the. We also enjoyed those nice targets and our shooters combined their eforts to give us a team score of 247 led by the Spencers with both Dan and Sean coming in with perfect 50's. Backing up the Spencers were a bunch of 49's provided by John Catlin, Bob Huson, John Kanyuck, Zach Lang, Adam Miller, Con Shearer and Joel Stewart. Next week we get to meet the Gem City team as they visit our grounds. Come on out and enjoy the fun.
We spent Week Nine in the Northwest Territory. That is the territory of the Albion sportsman club. They were very gracious hosts providing us with warm tempratures, bright blue skies and gentle breezes. They also gave us a chance to rack up our second win of the second half. Our team, led by Zach Lang and Ward Cameron who gave us marching 50's and the 49''s provided by Don Goodenow, Tom O'Brien, Larry Price, Con Shearer, Sean Spencer and Joel Srewart gave us a team score of 247. Albion's efforts resulted in a 242 for them.
Remember next week we will be hosting the Edinboro team. We will need all the help we can get to continue our second half winning ways. Come on out and help our team.

Week 8 and the start of the Second Half had a bright blue cloudless sky with very gentle winds. All those factors helped us put to gether a team score of another 246 (our third of the year) by the efforts of Sean Spence's 50 and the 49's of John Catlin, Don Goodenow, Adam Miller and Joel Stewart. Bay City post a team score of 240. Next week July 21 st, we head northwest to visit the Albion Sportsmen's grounds.
Week 7 We visted our norther friends at the Erie County Sportsmen League. We came away with a vistory thanks to the efforts of Sean Spencers 30 backed up by the 49's of Bob Huson, John Kanyuck, Zach Lang and Joel Stewart who gave us a team score 246. That topped the Erie County score of 237. Next match is on July 14th when Bay City visits our grounds.
Week 6 brought our friends out of the cherry orchards and grapevines of North East to pay us a visit. The weather was nice but that nasty old winf did have one or two tricks up its sleeve. When it was all over we came out on top thanks to John Kanyuck and Con Sheared leadng the way with 50's and being backed up Logan Gage's 49 and the 48's of John Catlin and Joel Stewart. Now we get a two week break while the PA and then the OHIO state ATA shoots take place. Remember, you can also get some Thursday evening trap in at Erie Co. next week and then Bay Cith the following week. We will se you back here for the ECTL Week Seven (and the end of the First Half) on June 30th when we head up to the Erie County Sportsmen fields.
Week 5 saw us hosting our cross-county friends from Sparta. Weather condition started out being rather wet and unpleasant but by the time the last few squads took the line, the weather had inproved to being beautiful. The competition was close with only two targets seperating the teams. Fortunately that two target margin was in our favor. The twin fifties of Don Goodenow and Sean Spencer. backuped by the forty nines of John Kanyuck, Adam Miller and Ward Cameron brought us the victory. Next week we get to host the North East Sportsmen team when they come a calling on Week 6.
Week four saw us traveling up to Gem City to use their new four field layout. It was a good trip for us as, thanks to the efforts od Con Shearer and his 50 backed up by the 49's of of Katie Gage, William Peiffley, Diane Shouey and Sean Spencer we had a team score of 246 which bested Gem City's 243 by three birds. Nex week we get to stay at home as our cross-country friends and rival come to us from Sparta. Hope to see you there.
Week 3 saw us visiting Edinboro. The shooting conditions were just great. Sunshine, warm tempratures and moderate winds were enjoyed by all.It was a real nail biter until the last squad score sheet was turned in. With the Top Five scores tied at 245 it went to a tirbreaker to determine the winner. Our top five shooters, all with a 49, were Don Godenow, Bob Huson, William Peifley, Con Shearer and Sean Spencer. There were many 48's to break the tie. We had 5 48's. The only problem was that Edinboro had 10 of them, several from the last two squads. That gave them the win and it gave us our second loss of the short season. Oh well, next week we travel up to Gem City. Lets hope for a more favorable result there.
Week 2 and the "Fat Lady" sung our song! Like the old saying, it went all the way till our last squad and the 49's they brought in before we eeked out a 243 team score to best Albion's 241. We also had a whole slew of 48's to back up the three 49's of Don Goodenow, John Kanyuck and Sean Spencer. Backing them up with 48's were John Catlin, Bob Huson, Joe Pyrdek, Con Shearer, Diane Shouey and Joel Stewart. Next week we travel up the road to meet the Edinboro team on their grounds. Come out and join us won't you.
Week 1 and we have not started as well as we would have liked. We traveled up north to Waterford to visit our Bay City friends. They were happy to see us, especially so since they won this inagural match of the 2022 season. Their 244 score was three better than the 241 we could turn in. You can check out the team scores on the Won-Loss Bird Count page. Oh well, there is always next week when Albion comes a calling at our grounds. Hope to see you there. May 6th, 2022
